The prayers of others

First, I want to thank the Vineyard for stepping up and supporting this day with 24/7 prayer!

Many years ago I was at a very low place and some of my friends invited me to their Christmas party. I didn't feel like going, but they insisted, so I did. It turnout out to be a party with a prayer ambush. They sat me down and gathered around me and told me they wanted to pray for me. I was very discouraged and I just told them, "Knock yourselves out."

In spite of my poor attitude and lack of faith, their prayer s were answered and I was delivered from my suffering. It certainly wasn't my faith that got it done. I was the one with lost hope. They were removed far enough from the situation that they still had hope. And faith!

That is why we need to pray for those who are in seemingly lost in hopeless situations. Their faith is so damaged, and perhaps even nonexistent, that others must go to God on their behalf. That is why we pray.

When we look around, we can certainly see bad situations getting worse. We see a world losing its faith in political and economic systems and institutions and one another. Someone needs to believe God and step into the battle!

Jeremiah 32:17 "Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you."
