Cindi and I recently got involved in a ministry to international students. We are volunteers that help Chinese, Indian, Brazilian and other foreign students with their conversational English. A part of every Monday night class is reading from the Bible. A lot of American language and culture is from the Bible, so it is a useful text book.
The majority of the students are from China, and most of them are not Christians, so it is a great opportunity to introduce them to Jesus. Some of them even take Him back home! It is a great blessing to us to have this opportunity to serve these students, many of whom really need a friend in the States. I have to admit that this is pretty light duty, and it's also a lot of fun.
