A friend sent me notice of a meeting a few weeks ago and I forgot about it because I have been very busy and my antenna was rusty. So, yesterday I saw this and decided it was worth praying for. I have put a link to the PDF in the lower right sidebar under Links of Interest.
The link opens up an agenda for the Faith Network Committee meeting as part of the Alachua County Mentor Coalition. The meeting is from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Boys and Girls Club Rotary Center, which is located at 1100 SE 17th Dr.
A meeting like this is both a prayer opportunity and an action opportunity. We need to bring the weight of both our prayers and our presence to any local organization that is influencing the youth of our community. If we don't, someone else will. Although I am slammed today and cannot get to this one, the same group will meet again in December on the first, same time and place.
Father in Heaven, we lift up this meeting to you and ask you to bless it with good counsel. We ask you to draw men and women of God to this ministry who have already successfully raised children to adulthood. Open the eyes of your people, Lord, to see that it is in their power to change the destiny of young people with their love and their time. We ask these things in Jesus name.
